Sean Taylor - From Another Sideline

Posted by: Zach

It’s hard enough trying to get up the composure to write this post, because it was so much easier when we all thought Sean Taylor would make it. Now that he hasn’t, it would not serve his memory or his family any justice to avoid writing about it.

Particularly when I’m not a Washington Redskins fan.

I grew up in the Washington area, and I have always hated the Redskins. I have hated their owners, their colors, the stances on the treatment of their fans, the traffic jams they caused in my area, everything. But I always admired the players on their team; mostly because they were always playing on local TV, and because they had talent.

It’s much of the same for Sean Taylor. I would grimace at his big hits like a Skins fan, I would become frustrated with his antics like a Skins fan, I would clap when he made a good play like a Skins fan. When people talk about how much of a changed person he was becoming, I believed in him just like a Skins fan.

And now that he’s gone, I am mourning like a Skins fan. And its just as well, because today, everybody should be a Skins fan.

Well put Jarrett. I couldn’t say it any better being a fan from a different team.
