Baltimore Ravens - Madness Over Miracles
Kyle Boller’s interception with 10:22 remaining in the fourth quarter bought that same old feeling back to Charm City last night. In all aspects of a football game, the Baltimore Ravens outplayed a team that many have crowned the greatest team in NFL single-season history, but the fourth quarter revealed all the signs of an unraveling 4-7 team.
And then, it was confirmed.
This isn’t even a sample of the season the Ravens have had, because they played to their potential on this night and did so with desire. But magic trumped desire, and the New England Patriots remained on the path to perfection. But it wasn’t the old familiar stuff of Brady lore, it would be the black magic of the Ravens that will be remembered as much as the outcome.
It’s one thing to allow a come from behind victory from the league’s best team. It’s another thing to collect more yards in penalties than passing in the quarter. It’s one thing for the sideline to call a timeout and stifle an amped defense. It’s another thing to take any chance away from the offense that was just as amped up.
It shows the dissension and lack of cohesion for the Ravens, and the worst part, is that people believed. And had good reason to.
Now, there’s good reason to believe that the Patriots are suited for supremacy.

Tough loss. Tough, tough loss.Bright spot: Boller looked great.

December 4th, 2007 at 10:29 amThe holding call on the 4th Down play was a bogus call for a team exposed for cheating. It irked me like no other call this year. The Patriots did not deserve that game.
