Cam Cameron Comes to Baltimore

Posted by: Zach

Cam Cameron (Boston Globe)In the first sign that the Ravens are moving in the head coach-by-committee direction, the team brought in former Miami Dolphins head coach Cam Cameron to be its new offensive coordinator. Cameron may have flopped in Florida, but he flew high in San Diego, where the offense was among the league’s elite under his tenure.

This was an easily predicted move after the reports of interviews with Cameron surfaced. It greatly reduces the questions regarding John Harbaugh’s hiring, and should be a fresh make over for a long stagnant offense. But there are still questions ahead, primarily about who will run the defense. Inside reports have the Ravens waiting to see if former coordinator Rex Ryan will be offered any positions throughout the league, to determine if they can counter the offer.

The next question? Who’s the quarterback? Cameron can do things with QB’s, but it remains to be seen if it will be Kyle Boller or Troy Smith to develop under a new system.

I am glad this happened, because reports were Harbaugh was pulling for Eagles QB coach Pat Shurmur. They don’t need to lose any more coaches.
