The Baltimore Ravens have called a 1:00 p.m. press conference to announce the retirement of quarterback Steve McNair.
With rumors swirling around NFL circles about the potential selection of Boston College’s Matt Ryan, this is not a surprising move for the Ravens or McNair, who has suffered from injuries and inconsistent play in his two years in Baltimore.
The 35-year-old McNair threw for two touchdowns and four interceptions in 2007, and will retire from the NFL with a Super Bowl appearance, a league MVP award, and two pro bowl appearances.
More to come.

McNair had a great career. That’s sad to see him go. Get ready for Matt Ryan Baltimore.
