In addition to being a vital part of the Ravens’ defensive secondary, cornerback Samari Rolle is also an institution in the Baltimore community, and the NFL and Home Depot are honoring him for his community service efforts.
Rolle will be one of 17 NFL players to be honored by the Home Depot as players making a charitable difference in the community. A playground will be be built in a Baltimore-area neighborhood to mark his charitable service in the program in October, and at the end of the season, Rolle will compete with the other nominees to be the NFL’s Neighborhood MVP, with a donation of $25,000 to go to the charity of his choice.
Fans will be able to vote at NFL.com/HomeDepot beginning Nov. 1.
So before you think about criticizing Rolle this season should he react slow on a post pattern or give up a touchdown, just remember your kid might benefit from his community service efforts.
