It’s now a matter of public record that Suzy Kolber thinks Willis McGahee is out of shape, which she thinks may be a contributing factor to him having more examinations than rushing yards this season.
But Suzy may not be that off. While its a stretch to say that injuries in a violent sport can be directly attributed to poor conditioning, its not a stretch to say that poor conditioning primes a back for more violent hits. If he’s moving slower, can’t cut back the latter stages of games, or can’t get to the outside, he’s a sitting duck.
It’s not something to take super seriously, and McGahee always looks pretty spry in Eastern Motors commercials. But if the load comes down to a fullback in Le’Ron McClain and a rookie in Ray Rice going forward, we may be looking at Suzy Kolber as a visionary of sorts.
