Any Interest?

Players released this week (or last) that in my opinion, the Ravens should look into signing:

  • WR Laverneus Coles (NYJ)
  • LB Derrick Brooks (TB)
  • WR Joey Galloway (TB)
  • Marvin Harrison, anybody?
  • CB Dre Bly (DEN)
  • WR Drew Bennet (STL)
  • QB Trent Green (STL, possibly for backup depth)
  • DE Anthony Weaver (HOU, former Raven)
  • OT Ephraim Salaam (HOU)
  • LB Donnie Edwards (KC)
  • S Mike Brown (CHI: Maybe he can play cornerback, would be expensive)
  • WR David Patten (NO)

Now I doubt the team will sign any of these players, they never really do, but these are just some ideas.

Coles could be a great addition to that offense.

  • Benji

I think we should go after WR Laverneus Coles or WR Drew Bennet and CB Dre Bly. Coles would give us that Deepthreat that our offense could really use. Flacco can really show off his arm with him. I also think we should go after Bennet. Big tall  possession WR that can pick up 3rd downs and is a nice target over the middle. After we sign one of the two, i believe we should take a shot a Dre Bly. He didnt play very well is denver, but i believe he could return back to that all-pro form he had with the lions. Imagine him being able to jump almost every route because he has Ed Reed back there to have his back. He would also be a great option if we do deciede to let Samari Rolle go.

Where have you heard talk of Rolle being cut? I have just heard of talks of him being demoted in the depth chart.

The Ravens are reportedly interested in former Squeelers offensive tackle, Marvel Smith. We’ll have to see if they sign him. Also I think DJ Hackett might be a solid pick up at WR since Bryant Johnson already has signed with the Lions.
