Chris Carr is a Raven

Don’t worry, we didn’t just waste our money on David Carr, one of the biggest QB busts in history.  The team signed Chris Carr, a former Titan cornerback, for 2 years and $5 million.  Samari Rolle has now officialy been cut, meaning that the Ravens have as their top 3 cornerbacks: Fabian Washington, Dominique Foxworth, and now, Chris Carr.

Carr is one of the NFL’s best return men, (and here’s a trivia question for you) leads the NFL in most return yards without scoring a return touchdown.  Last year Carr racked up 31 tackles and one interception.  Carr should be the 3rd corner on the depth chart and might end up being the team’s primary return specialist if Yamon Figurs doesn’t figure out how to run forwards.

Given that they cut Rolle and Ivy is likely gone as well, they are going to need all of the DB help they can muster.

The defense depends very much on good cover corners who can maintain coverage for the pressure to work towards the pocket.
