Hey there knuckleheads, are you all aware that FanSided now has an iPhone app? You weren’t? Oh, well you are missing out on the action, my friend. Realtime Pro Football 09′ is a new app that gives live updates from NFL players, national sportswriters and local bloggers like me of status updates from their Twitter account. These are updated every minute, so I bet that if Chad Ochocinco tweets about going to Wal-Mart and not being asked for his autograph at all, even while wearing his jersey, you will be one of the first 25 people to hear about it.

No Live Blog Tonight
Sorry everyone, but there will be no live blog tonight, as I have other engagements I have to attend to. I won’t even be able to watch the game, what a drag it will be. I don’t know what will happen, but I expect that Casey may have a recap post or something after the game. The next few weeks may be a bit slower, just because of classes starting back up and everything, but I will try to have at least 5 posts a week, hopefully more. Also, I am pretty confident that live game blogs will be a [...]
College Football Preview: Part 2
Part two of this preview is done by Jeff Wolfson, who I built a rapport with on Twitter, but has his own new site called Jeff Wolfson Sports, coincidentally also on the Tailgate 365 network. He is a multimedia producer for MASN and has over 13,000 Twitter updates in just over 6 months. I have 450 in just about the same timeframe. Here it is:
Heisman Race:
The obvious choice here would be to say that Tim Tebow of the Florida Gators will win it. However, Jevan Snead of Mississippi, Colt McCoy of Texas and defending winner Sam Bradford should all battle [...]
Last-Minute Fantasy Advice
If you haven’t conducted your fantasy draft yet (I did last night), here are some last-minute tips for you in your draft, based on mine and numerous mock drafts I participated in.
If you really want Drew Brees, take him early. I had to take him #2 overall, because I didn’t like any of the top RBs and QBs in my league are a good value if they have big seasons. There has been a lot of interest for him, so take him early, maybe even use him as trade bait.
DeAngelo Williams is a wild card. In one draft, he went #3. [...]
Brandon Marshall, Broncos stud wide receiver, has been suspended for the remainder of the preseason because of “conduct detrimental to the team.” In basic terms, he wasn’t taking practice seriously and throwing a fit like a moody 6-year old girl. He was swatting passes away when they were thrown to his hands, and he later punted a ball after going through a quickness drill.
Josh McDaniels, a guy who came from no-nonsense New England, has refused to give in to Marshall’s contract demands and has demoted him to 2nd team during practice, is holding a press conference around 1 o’clock. [...]
Got a Definite Starter? We Do!
Football is a team sport. If the offensive lineman don’t block well the quarterback doesn’t get much time and delivers a bad pass. If the pass is bad, the receiver doesn’t have a chance at catching it. Football is a team sport, more than any other. That is why team chemistry is so important. The nucleus of team chemistry stems from the quarterback, the field general. Having a solid quarterback that the team can build around is key. Peyton Manning. Drew Brees. Tom Brady. These are all quarterbacks whose team’s success starts with them. Without a set QB, the clubhouse [...]
College Football Preview: Part 1
“Large Tuna” at The City That Reeds, a Tailgate 365 Ravens blog, volunteered for this and did a great job. While it is hilarious, thought-provoking and at times, a bit vulgar, he knows what he’s talking about. So without further ado, I present to you Large Tuna’s 2009-2010 College Football Preview.
Heisman Race
Is there really any doubt in anyone’s mind that the eye blacked apostle who hails from the University of Florida will win the Heisman again. Tim Tebow has already been enshrined on campus with his own display citing his speech following the September 27 loss to Ole Miss, the kid [...]
Its Pronounced “NAH-ta”
Haloti Ngata is one of the NFL’s premier defensive tackles. He is a force on the line for one of the NFL’s top defenses. He has been in the news; mainly for the time he punched Cleveland Browns OT Joe Thomas. Ngata has been in the league for 4 years now and yet reporters, radio analysts, and broadcasters can’t seem to get his name pronounced correctly. I have heard many variations, from “Nagta” to “Nagata”. I am hear to set things straight. Here is my message to the sports world. The name Ngata is pronounced “NAH-ta”. The “g” is silent. [...]
Says Media: “Sanchez Sucks!”
Ahh, sweet sweet victory. Although the game was close in the end, with Erik Ainge almost leading the Jets offense to respectability, well, they lost. Mark Sanchez’ mediocre play in the first half (although Ron Jaworski and Jon Gruden seemed to think that his short screen passes to Leon Washington were actually beautiful strikes downfield) has led to TV analysts, bloggers and print media all doubting his ability. Today’s post will feature all of the b-e-a-utiful links slamming on the So. Cal Prettyboy.
New York Daily News writes about Sanchez’ struggles. I loved the picture on this article so much [...]
Preseason Week 2 Impressions
Lardarius Webb is awesome. Game changer, game winner
Tavares Gooden better be the starter at linebacker, he looked great tonight.
The Ray Rice era in Baltimore has arrived, my friends.
I liked Cam Cameron’s playcalling and Greg Mattison’s.
This game was a lot less close than the score suggests.
I have now swung to Steve Hauschka being my choice for starting kicker. Graham Gano just always seems too nervous.
I’m tired of talking about this game, it was enjoyable, stressful and a bit boring in the end. Comment with your own impressions.
