The Ravens have added some more depth to their receiving corps, signing Super Bowl hero David Tyree. Tyree was cut by the Giants at the end of training camp and was immediately linked to the Ravens. The 29-year old out of Syracuse has 54 career receptions, 650 yards and four touchdowns. He will probably be 5th on the depth chart behind Derrick Mason, Mark Clayton, Kelley Washington and Demetrius Williams. With the loss of Marcus Smith from injury and the cuts of Justin Harper, Ernie Wheelright and Eron Riley, the team ended up with a shortage of capable receivers. With the Giants drafting two promising receivers in Hakeem Nicks and Rameses Barden this year, Tyree fell victim of an overcrowded receiver corps.
It will be interesting to see how he fits into the system and what his role will be with the team.
