FIRST HALF:
The first half was very solid. The offense held its own and at times looked unstoppable. Flacco was recognizing open receivers and making a lot of good throws. Ray Rice and Co. were grinding the Steelers’ D-line and gaining positive yards. The defense was for the most part, very good. With that said, it seemed like every time the Pittstink offense had a big play, it was negated by a penalty. A lot of luck there. The Ravens finally scored a first half touchdown, and Matt Vensel, sportswriter for “b” daily, mentioned on his Twitter account that it seems like [...]

Week 12: Ravens-Steelers Preview
This is it. The biggest game of the year, in two senses. The first is that if the Ravens don’t win this, they go below .500 and fall two games behind the Steelers in the division. The other is that it’s the first Steelers game, and it’s at home. The fans may be the most pumped up they’ve been in years. Their team is in the hunt, down but not out, and the 55 men they hate the most will be wearing their putrid colors on their field. Should be a crazy atmosphere.

Q&A With Jeff Wolfson
Jeff Wolfson, writer of Jeff Wolfson Sports, gave us some of his insights and opinions into this Sunday’s game.
Q: As a Ravens fan, is there any better week in the season than the one before the first Steelers game, when you’re getting pumped up?
A: Steelers games are the best. The division rivalry and the nature of the games are so excited. Generally, both teams are good so they always have playoff implications. Both teams like to beat each and hurt their playoff chances each season.
Q: What do the Ravens need to do to win this Sunday? Did you see any [...]
So today, I thought that some nice link-fetching would be nice. This isn’t Ravens news or interesting stories. This is straight up cut-throat, hateful, despising, cheap shot bashing of Pittsburgh and the Squealers. Enjoy.
A fellow FanSided blog, Inside the Iggles, offers up their reasons for hating Pittsburgh and the Steelers.
Deadspin covers the Steelers in their “Why your team sucks” series.
There’s a whole site for hating the Steelers, that I just recently discovered.
It did not surprise me at all when I read this PSA, if you might call it that. The city does smell terrible.
From reading the reviews on this apartment, [...]
I’m Thankful for Billy Cundiff
On Sunday, Billy Cundiff scored all 15 of the Ravens’ points. He was the best offensive weapon in that game, and some could even say he even outclassed Peyton Manning with his five field goals. Although Cundiff missed a kick that could have theoretically gave the Ravens a win by the end of the game, the sheer composure and professionalism Cundiff had against the Colts was a great sign for Ravens fans. That was the main difference I noticed between Matt Stover and Steve Hauschka. Every time Hauschka went out there, it seemed like he was either too excited to [...]
Washington Out For Season
After another heart-breaking loss at the hands of their archrival Indianapolis Colts, the Ravens got the news that cornerback Fabian Washington would be out for the rest of the 2009-10 season. Washington, the 5th year Nebraska alum, tore his ACL on the far sideline after tackling Colts running back Joseph Addai. Washington, in his second year with the Ravens, will be replaced by any one of the three cornerbacks Chris Carr, Lardarius Webb or Frank Walker (oh no). Coach Harbaugh has also stated that an outside candidate may be brought in.
Otherwise, the game was not good. When the Colts and [...]
How To Beat The Colts
Today at 1:00 at M&T Bank Stadium, the Ravens will be playing a make or break game for their playoff hopes. If they win, their chances improve greatly. If they lose, they’re pretty much done. The Colts are undefeated, and have looked great overall. Two scares against Houston and New England were outliers to the pattern, and today, the Purple Birds will try to put an end to the Colts’ winning streak this season, and the Colts’ winning streak against the Ravens.
Peyton Manning has been phenomenal. His QB rating is above 100 and he’ll most likely pass 3,000 passing yards [...]
This is going to be extremely quick, because I have a lot of work to do, but today there’s some important news to post about. First off is obviously the contract Billy Cundiff signed with the Ravens yesterday. Hopefully he will be a valiant replacement for Steve Hauschka.
Second and last, The Blind Side, the story of Michael Oher’s difficult and inspirational rise to the NFL, premieres tomorrow. The film stars Sandra Bullock as Oher’s adopted mother, Leigh Anne Tuohy. The movie is based off of the nonfiction Michael Lewis book of the same title. From seeing the previews, it seems like [...]
Team Uninspring, Hauschka Cut
First we’ll start with the news: Steven “Not Matt Stover” Hauschka has been released. The kicker has been struggling and has missed two key kicks, one that would have won the Vikings game, and one that would have gotten the Ravens within one possession against the Bengals. The fans have lost all faith in him, the media had and finally, the coaches had. I’ve always defended him, but missing again last night was just too much. I said on WNST’s live game chat that I had supported him for a while, but after his consistent missing the last few weeks, I [...]
Monday Night Mockery?
This preview will be a little off from the regular format for the sake of time, because I’m making this post only 2 hours or so before the game starts. From the title, you can gather that this game will not be taken seriously by anybody not associated with these two teams. The NFL will watch this game and think that if the Ravens win, it’ll just be another beatdown of the hapless Browns. If the Ravens lose, they’ll be mocked for a while to come.
The Ravens have always struggled on MNF, it’s a proven fact. With that said, [...]
