Hue Jackson Is Raiders’ New OC

The big Ravens news today: QB coach Hue Jackson has joined the Oakland Raiders as their offensive coordinator.  All I can say really is good luck.  When your main job is to make Jamarcus Russell a winning quarterback, yeah, that might be an easy one to mess up.  Chris at Just Blog Baby did a great job of describing Jackson and the jobs he will probably need to do in Oakland, and I highly advise you read that post.

According to Jamison Hensley via Twitter and his blog, Jim Zorn and Al Saunders are “likely candidates” to replace Jackson.  Zorn, the infamous, recently-terminated Redskins head coach is an accomplished QB coach, while Saunders, while being a solid contributor to the Ravens coaching staff, is not. We’ll see how it all breaks down as time goes on.
