Door Opens for the Ravens to Sign Neil Rackers

It has been reported that the Arizona Cardinals have signed free agent kicker Jay Feely, meaning that Neil Rackers will not re-sign a contract to stay in Glendale.  Now, with several reports and quotes saying that the Ravens are interested in bringing in a veteran kicker for the 2010 season, they will have the choice between Shayne Graham and Neil Rackers. As I’ve said, I believe Neil Rackers is a better choice, and I also believe that Shayne Graham will most likely end up back in Cincinnati.

Interestingly enough, the Cardinals actually wanted Rackers back, and gave him a “substantial” offer when Free Agency started. The Cardinals needed to sign Feely after Rackers and his agent did not respond to the offer.  This offer does make the Ravens signing Rackers a bit tricky, however. They may not be willing to fork over a huge amount of money for a kicker, so Graham may sneak back into the conversation.
