M&T Bank Stadium Hosts A Successful Championship Weekend

M&T Bank Stadium hosted the NCAA Lacrosse Championships this weekend with Duke (D1), C.W. Post (D2) and Tufts (D3) bringing home the hardware.

I’ve been hush this weekend because I have enjoyed three great days of lacrosse at M&T Bank Stadium, where 3 NCAA Men’s Champions were determined. I’m not a lacrosse player or a huge fan, but I like the sport, and after going in 2007, I’ve learned that the experience of seeing a sport played at the highest level for three straight days is pretty cool.

While it was incredibly hot, the stadium (and new turf) did Baltimore proud. The turf looked good, but it seemed very slippery, as the fans witnessed about double or triple the average amount of falls as you would see in an average lacrosse game. I don’t know if it was the humidity or just the players, but it’s something to possibly think about.

Ravens Will Show NFL Red Zone At Games

Today’s news is a bit flat, as the best story we can find is that the Ravens will be showing NFL Red Zone at the stadium, on their new 24×100 foot HD screens. They are following the Patriots’ lead, and the screens will be pretty much everywhere in the stadium. It’ll be like Nationals Park on steroids.

Oh but no big deal, it’s only 500 screens being installed. All showing the same exact channel. And now that sentence has set the tone for the whole article. Believe me, it gets better, just wait. I’ve managed to turn the lamest daily headline into an all-out exaggeration.

Willis McGahee looks to improve on his 2009, and help the Ravens running game be one of the best in the NFL in 2010.

After a banner sophomore season for starter Ray Rice, where he was a Pro Bowler and was 2nd in the NFL in total yards, the running back corps is looking to build on a great 2009.

With Willis McGahee hopefully being healthy and in shape to start the season, the Ravens will try to use that 1-2 punch as successfully as they did in the ’09 campaign. Also looking for playing time and a spot on the team at the position are returnees Jalen Parmele and Matt Lawrence, and undrafted free agent Curtis Steele (Memphis).
