Terrell Suggs Wins Super Bowls In The Super Bowl, NOT OTAs

AUTHOR: | IN: Offseason, Popular, Ravens | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

Terrell Suggs is just awesome. A guy who loves to talk, loves to pump up the fans, and is a monster on the field (most of the time), Suggs is yet another example of guys with big egos in the NFL. There’s a saying us bloggers like to use which goes “Big egos equals big content.”  Toss aside the fact that no bloggers say that, and it’s completely correct.  Suggs had this gem of a quote yesterday on the Scott Garceau radio show, 105.7 The Fan’s afternoon drive-time program: It’s OTAs, we’re not winning any games or any Super Bowls [...]

No, We’re Not Dead

AUTHOR: | IN: Blog News | COMMENTS: None Yet

Hello all, I’m too upset about the news that Ed Reed might not be back in 2010, so let’s mask my fear and heartbreak with some ever-exciting BLOG NEWS!!! I’d like to apologize for my extended absence of late, things have been crazy for the last week or so, and blogging just didn’t fit into the plans.  You can complain all you want, but I’m back. I won’t try to recap what I missed, basically Walt Harris and Marc Bulger were acquired to add some depth to their respective positions, and some other less important stuff went down with it. [...]

Ken Hamlin Agrees To Join Ravens

AUTHOR: | IN: Free Agency, Offseason, Ravens | COMMENTS: None Yet

Some quick, fairly significant news today out of the Ravens’ camp. The team and defensive back Ken Hamlin have agreed on what is thought to be a one-year contract. Here’s an excerpt from the PFT post: Baltimore agreed to terms with safety Ken Hamlin on a one-year contract Thursday, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. We don’t know the details, but it’s safe to say Hamlin will take a sizable hair cut from his bloated salary with the Cowboys.  (Perhaps this is more like shaving your head than a haircut.) A Great Day For Haruki Nakamura

AUTHOR: | IN: Offseason | COMMENTS: None Yet

On this day, June 14th of 2010, let it be known that Haruki Nakamura had a pretty rockin’ time. Not only did his homeland of Japan win their first game of the 2010 FIFA World Cup 1-0 over Cameroon, the legend that is Ken Murray wrote something about him! While a lot of the news on The Sun’s Ravens blog is dull and boring, this news is actually pretty good, talking about a return for Nakamura that would be ahead of schedule. After breaking his fibula in a November Monday Night game against the Browns in his hometown of Cleveland, Nakamura [...]

Current Depth Chart Projections

AUTHOR: | IN: Offseason, Ravens | COMMENTS: None Yet

With 4 position outlooks completed, here’s a full collection of what I predict the depth charts will look like.  This doesn’t take into account who gets cut, put on the practice squad, or anything specific like that, just how they stack up in my mind.  Every 3 or 4 outlooks that are completed, I’ll update this list. When they’re all done, they’ll all go into one page on the top bar. So without further ado, here are my projected depth charts for the Ravens at the positions of Quarterback, Running Back, Wide Receiver and Fullback. Click “Continue Reading” to see [...]

Position Outlook: Fullback

AUTHOR: | IN: Offseason, Position Outlooks | COMMENTS: None Yet

As our Position Outlook series continues, we take a look at the Ravens’ fullbacks. These players will be paving the way for running backs Ray Rice and Willis McGahee as they try to wear down opposing teams with a smashmouth running game. In addition to their blocking responsibilities, the fullbacks will be called on to carry the ball, catch the ball, and possibly even throw the ball if Cam Cameron is feeling a little frisky. For the full collection of position outlooks, click here. After two Pro Bowl seasons, Le’Ron McClain has his foot firmly planted as the Ravens’ starting [...]

Due to my coverage of the MLB Draft tonight, I wasn’t able to make the position outlook for the fullback group like I was planning. So instead, I’ll do what I do best…link out to other stuff that I didn’t write! It’s been a relatively slow day of Ravens news, but there is some link-worthy stuff happening. Along with the links, we’ve got some blog news, including the full future order of the position outlook series. Click “Continue Reading” to see a collection of links and some blog news

The 2010 MLB Draft Is Tonight

AUTHOR: | IN: Ravens | COMMENTS: None Yet

Hello all, Tonight, as many of you may know, is the MLB Draft. Being a huge baseball fan, this is a great night for me, as I get to witness amateur players that I know get drafted and we get to see how the futures of our favorite teams look. Because of my burning passion, I’ll be joining the gang at Call To The Pen, FanSided’s MLB site, for their live coverage. Click here to go directly to the coverage, and browse around the site while you’re there, it’s a great site that is just getting better.  Their coverage will [...]

Position Outlook: Tight End

AUTHOR: | IN: Position Outlooks, Ravens | COMMENTS: None Yet

Hello Ravens fans, I hope you’ve had a nice weekend. Before we get started with another position outlook I’d like to make a programming note. Tomorrow is the MLB Draft, which is an event that I really enjoy. I’ll probably be covering it live on another site on the FanSided network, so I’ll let you know about that when I get more info. Now onto the good stuff… The tight end can make or break a football game.  A good one can make the defense uncomfortable with their pass-catching skills, or make their team’s backfield comfortable with their blocking.  A [...]

Ravens Are #3 Team In Madden 11 (FULL RATINGS LIST)

AUTHOR: | IN: Popular | COMMENTS: 6 Comments

We’re past Memorial Day, which basically means Summer, and you know what Summer means…Madden ratings!!! While the player ratings won’t be released for over a month, the team ratings were released today, and the Ravens are the #3 team in the entire NFL. Slotting in with an overall rating of 90 (out of 100), the Ravens are behind only the Super Bowl champion Saints (92), and the Super Bowl-losing Colts (91).  Being an 87 rating last year, the Ravens’ offseason pickups, most notably trading for Anquan Boldin and picking up two top defensive players in April’s NFL Draft, must have [...]
