Week 12 Preview: Ravens vs Buccaneers

AUTHOR: | IN: Games, Previews | COMMENTS: None Yet

After a great long weekend filled with turkey, pie, and some awesome football, we turn our attentions back to the Ravens. Facing a tough test at home against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who have posted a 7-3 record in a very tough AFC South division. Predicted to be one of the NFL’s worst teams before the season started, the Bucs have put themselves in playoff contention, led by the strong play of quarterback Josh Freeman.

A 24-Point Win Isn’t THAT Bad…

AUTHOR: | IN: Games, Ravens, Recaps | COMMENTS: None Yet

First off, sorry this didn’t go up yesterday. The internet, being the consistently dependable thing it is, managed to be extremely effective and work without fail. Note the sarcasm, please. In the end, the result of Sunday’s game is a win. A very valuable, much-needed win, which lets the Ravens keep their stronghold over the AFC North. Sure, some things weren’t as smooth as they should’ve been against a very weak Panthers team, but the general consensus in Baltimore is that the Ravens did not play well on Sunday, and I disagree. Read on to find out why.

Week 11: Ravens vs Panthers Preview

AUTHOR: | IN: Games, Popular, Previews | COMMENTS: None Yet

In a few hours, we will all be witnesses to the Brian St. Pierre Spectacular. A game that was previously an afterthought on the NFL schedule this week because of the gap in talent between the two teams has become one of the games to watch this week, all because of a fourth-string quarterback who’s played two games in seven NFL seasons. It’s ironic because St. Pierre will try to beat a team that placed him on their practice squad in 2005, and cut him completely from their team in 2006. That means a man who could not beat out [...]

The New Panthers’ Starting Quarterback Is….Brian St. Pierre?

AUTHOR: | IN: Games, Ravens | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

So, after last night’s post about Tony Pike starting on Sunday at quarterback for the Panthers, John Fox has named Brian St. Pierre his starter. Yeah, Brian St. Pierre. If you know his name, you know that he’s a career journeyman who usually latches on as a third-string quarterback for a struggling team in the pre-season, and then gets passed around the league like a hot potato. Career statistics (they’re overwhelming) and such after the jump.

The Panthers’ QB Situation Is Awful

AUTHOR: | IN: Games, Ravens | COMMENTS: None Yet

In the Ravens’ nine games this season, they’ve faced some strong quarterbacks, and some not-so-strong quarterbacks. This week, well, the Panthers will have one of those “not-so-strong” guys taking the snaps. With the opening day starter Matt Moore being inconsistent, ineffective, and injured, and the rookie Jimmy Clausen being even more inconsistent and ineffective, throwing in a concussion last week for good measure, the Panthers turn to rookie 6th-round selection Tony Pike this week against a Ravens secondary that boasts a recently-returned Ed Reed at the free safety position.

Since tonight’s matchup between the Sneezles and Deadskins is all-NFC, we can take a look at the AFC playoff race after an extremely intriguing Week 10 in the NFL. With the Ravens and Steelers both losing, and the Jets and Patriots both winning, along with a new team being at the top of the AFC West standings, there’s been quite a shake-up in the playoff race, and more than ever, there are contenders popping up everywhere.

Putting The Pieces Back Together

AUTHOR: | IN: Games, Ravens, Recaps | COMMENTS: None Yet

I don’t want to talk about that game from Thursday night. Enough has been said about it already, and it’s almost impossible to make any sense of what happened. This post will address what the Ravens can do to rebound from the loss, and get back in the driver’s seat in the AFC playoff picture.

Week 10: Ravens vs. Falcons Preview

AUTHOR: | IN: Ravens | COMMENTS: None Yet

I’m excited. Why shouldn’t I be? National TV, two teams playing for the top record in the NFL, with the game sure to be a doozie. Each team has their third-year quarterback, their top-notch running back, their star wide receiver, solid offensive and defensive lines, and very legitimate defenses. Basically, they’re good. The bright lights are on, the NFL Network cameras are rolling, and the Ravens and Falcons have the NFL abuzz. Read on for a preview of what could be the NFL’s best matchup of the season thus far.

PLAYOFFS?!?!?!?!?!?

AUTHOR: | IN: Popular | COMMENTS: None Yet

It’s never too early to talk about the playoffs and a possible Super Bowl run for the Ravens. At the moment, the Ravens are 6-2, with losses to the New England Patriots (also 6-2), and the Cincinatti Bengals (2-5). No matter what the outcome of Pittsburgh’s MNF game tonight is against Cincy, the Ravens will be leading the AFC North. With their win over the 6-2 Jets, they’d be the #1 seed in the AFC. Yes, it is “rad cool”. In this post, we’ll look at the rest of the Ravens’ schedule, predict those results, and try to see how [...]
