After a great long weekend filled with turkey, pie, and some awesome football, we turn our attentions back to the Ravens. Facing a tough test at home against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who have posted a 7-3 record in a very tough AFC South division. Predicted to be one of the NFL’s worst teams before the season started, the Bucs have put themselves in playoff contention, led by the strong play of quarterback Josh Freeman.

A 24-Point Win Isn’t THAT Bad…

First off, sorry this didn’t go up yesterday. The internet, being the consistently dependable thing it is, managed to be extremely effective and work without fail. Note the sarcasm, please.

In the end, the result of Sunday’s game is a win. A very valuable, much-needed win, which lets the Ravens keep their stronghold over the AFC North. Sure, some things weren’t as smooth as they should’ve been against a very weak Panthers team, but the general consensus in Baltimore is that the Ravens did not play well on Sunday, and I disagree. Read on to find out why.

Week 11: Ravens vs Panthers Preview

Joe Flacco will look to continue his recent run of form in Charlotte today against the Panthers.

In a few hours, we will all be witnesses to the Brian St. Pierre Spectacular. A game that was previously an afterthought on the NFL schedule this week because of the gap in talent between the two teams has become one of the games to watch this week, all because of a fourth-string quarterback who’s played two games in seven NFL seasons. It’s ironic because St. Pierre will try to beat a team that placed him on their practice squad in 2005, and cut him completely from their team in 2006. That means a man who could not beat out a 33-year old Kordell Stewart for a roster spot will try to beat the 6-3, AFC North-leading Ravens today.

If everything goes according to plan, the Ravens should take this game and improve their record to 7-3. Just to let you know how favored the Ravens are, there is an 11-point spread in favor of the Ravens, who are the away team in this game. If anything, all of this reeks of the Bills matchup, meaning that the Purple Birds need to have a good head on their shoulders today, jump out to an early lead, and never look back.
