Lockout Update

The NFL and NFLPA were to resume mediation today in hopes to finally strike up a deal. Although there’s no confirmation to what stage the talks are at, we can only hope that they are progressing.

Also, the Eight Circuit Court of Appeals granted the owners’ request of a stay which will keep the lockout in effect. Until the lockout is officially lifted, offseason activities cannot resume. Some are saying that this will some how generate a spark for a deal to get done soon, but there is no way to know for sure.

As for my estimations, I believe that they’ll get a deal done within the next few months. With the offseason being delayed so much, the preseason and possibly the regular season may need to be canceled, altered, or moved around to ensure a full season. An affected season is pretty much certain at this point with a deal yet to happen. Of course, this is all speculation at the moment and the only thing that will get us closer to an answer is time. Stay tuned with the EbonyBird for more updates on the Lockout and Baltimore Ravens’ news.
