Earlier this week, Derrick Mason, Ray Rice and Joe Flacco were some of the many Baltimore Ravens’ players practicing this week at Towson University. With official workouts unable to be scheduled due to the lockout, it’s important to still get some practice in so younger players can get a grasp of the game. Torrey Smith, Tyrod Taylor, and Anthony Allen were among the rookies at the player-organized workout. However, first round draft pick Jimmy Smith did not attend.
The players mainly worked on route running, passing drills, as well as some conditioning. Though that goes a long way, the bonding between players is the most important reason for the workouts and is vital to a team’s success. Although it seems that the lockout will be in full effect for the next few months, it won’t stop players from getting together and training for next season.
