Wide Receiver Steve Smith Interested In Joining Ravens

Talks of the NFL Lockout ending this week have caused a free agency and trade rumor boom. The latest involves Carolina Panthers wide receiver Steve Smith being traded to either the San Diego Chargers or Baltimore Ravens. A third round pick is rumored to be enough to grab Smith who has two years left on his contract at a cost of 15 million dollars. The Baltimore Ravens already have Anquan Boldin and Derrick Mason at the 1 and 2 receiver spot and rookies Torrey Smith and Tandon Doss will be vying for the 3rd spot. Given that the Ravens have already bolstered their receiving corp in the draft, acquiring another receiver seems like a move in the wrong direction. I have been surprised before but let’s hope this rumor remains a rumor. Continue to check in with EbonyBird as we will report on fast breaking lockout and free agency news within the coming weeks.
