Jared Gaither now a KC Chief

Jared Gaither has now become the third member of the Ravens to sign with the Kansas City Cheifs.  He joins Leron McLain and Kelly Gregg as Ravens who have departed the team to head to join Haley and company.

Gaither was drafted in the fifth round of the 2007  supplemental draft.  He took over the starting left tackle role after Jon Ogden retired.  Gaither showed signs of pro-bowl level abilities during his time in Baltimore.  He missed the entire 2010 season with a mysterious back injury that some on the team were never convinced he actually had.  Gaither became disgruntled over his position when the Ravens drafted Michael Oher in the 1st round of the 2009 draft.

Gaither was never expected to come back to Baltimore.  If he had a better attitude and work ethic it is possible the team would have tried to resign him.  The offensive line is quite thin and a healthy Gaither certainly could have helped.   He would have had to play right tackle here and views himself as a premier left tackle which he may or may not become in Kansas City.

We wish Gaither the best of luck, and wish the coaching stuff luck in dealing with him.
