Fantasy Football Preview: Running Backs

AUTHOR: | IN: Fantasy | COMMENTS: None Yet

The preseason has begun and week two is a few short days away. With preseason football comes fantasy football, one of the biggest parts of the National Football League season. I love FF and usually am a part of quite a few leagues every season including face-to-face leagues with friends, online leagues with friends, and online leagues with random people. I’ve already had 2 FF drafts so far but many people have yet to do their drafts. So, every few days, I’m going to come out with a Fantasy Football Preview at each position. In the previews will be the [...]

Former Raven Jermaine Lewis Arrested And Shot With Stun Gun

AUTHOR: | IN: Ravens | COMMENTS: None Yet

Once a kick returner and wide receiver for the Baltimore Ravens, Jermaine Lewis has been charged with resisting arrest after a car accident. Reports came in of a reckless driver who ran over a sign but never stopped. After police located the car parked outside of Lewis’ home, they found him lying on the ground in what appeared to be an intoxicated state. He refused to cooperate and , as a result, was shot with a stun gun. He was released Tuesday on $50,000 bail. Jermaine was best know for his kick return for touchdown during the Ravens Superbowl in [...]

Ravens Offensive Line Needs

AUTHOR: | IN: Ravens | COMMENTS: None Yet

Yesterday, we saw that Oniel Cousins will be moved to right guard. I like this move for multiple reasons. One, it will give Jah Reid more reps at tackle which he needs and two, Cousins was not looking good at tackle. A lot of the questions at offensive line hinge around Jah Reid’s performance. Many said that drafting Jah Reid was a risky move and it’s proving to be a high risk, high reward scenario. If he pans out, than we will have a solid offensive line. If not, Marshall Yanda will be forced to move back to right tackle [...]

Oniel Cousins Moved To Right Guard

AUTHOR: | IN: Ravens | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

After showing a lackluster performance at right tackle in Thursday’s preseason opener, the Baltimore Ravens have decided to move Oniel Cousins to right guard. This move will put rookie Jah Reid into the starting right tackle position. Cousins can’t do much worse at guard then he did at tackle. If he does show that he can play there, then Marshall Yanda could be moved back out to right tackle where he was last season. He is currently experiencing back spasms which warranted the move of Cousins, but it could prove best in the end. Luckily, the Ravens still have three [...]

Lee Evans Adds A New Dynamic To The Ravens

AUTHOR: | IN: Ravens | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Ravens traded a fourth round pick to the Buffalo Bills for WR Lee Evans yesterday. Lee Evans is a speedster who will help out the Ravens tremendously. Baltimore has been looking for that explosive receiver that will open up the playbook and allow Joe Flacco to utilize his arm strength. Lee Evans looks to be the answer to that problem. At first I was skeptical about the move, but then I realized how great the deal was. A forth round pick for a former first rounder is a steal in my estimation. Evans production was never outstanding in Buffalo, [...]

Is The New Kickoff Rule A Concern?

AUTHOR: | IN: Ravens | COMMENTS: None Yet

This offseason, the NFL moved kickoffs from the 30 yard line to the 35 yard line. While five yards may not seem like a big deal, we saw that it greatly minimized the importance of the kickoff and kickoff return teams in preseason. Many have complained about the rule change and hope that it will change by the start of the regular season. The rational behind the rule change was that it’s making the game safer. I think this logic is complete nonsense. You are not lowering the intensity of the kickoff return, but just reducing the number of kickoff [...]

Update: The Ravens gave up a 4th rounder for Lee Evans. Lee Evans for a 3rd rounder?

AUTHOR: | IN: Ravens | COMMENTS: None Yet

UPDATE: The Ravens have traded for Lee Evans.  Terms of the trade are not yet available.  It is believed to be a 3rd or 4th round pick.  Stay tuned to the above article for details!! The apparent asking price for Lee Evans is a 3rd Round pick.  I wouldn’t give up a 3rd round pick for a 30 year old speed receiver whose avg YPC has been decreasing over the past few years.  It could be because of quarterback play but perhaps he has slowed some?  I would consider a 4th round pick for him but I would feel [...]

TJ Houshmandzadeh to Indy?

AUTHOR: | IN: Ravens | COMMENTS: None Yet

For those of you wishing that the Ravens would resign TJ Houshmandzadeh, you’re about to be let down.  Reports out of ESPN are stating that the former Ravens wide-out is negotiating a deal to join the Indianapolis Colts and Peyton Manning. You already know I don’t believe he would be a huge asset to the Ravens anyway.  I think he would be a solid addition to the Colts, however.  Peyton Manning is one of the greatest quarterback’s ever and will find a way to get a guy with TJ’s skill set the ball enough to keep him happy. Updates will [...]

The Ravens are DONE!

AUTHOR: | IN: Games, NFL, Ravens, Recaps | COMMENTS: 11 Comments

Ok I don’t really think the Ravens are done.  Not even close.  I just thought the headline would grab your attention which it obviously has since you’re here reading the first couple sentences.  I’m sure there are plenty of people out there today talking about how there is no way we are a playoff team and how Joe Flacco sucks, and all that really awesome stuff, but i am not one of them.  Let’s briefly cover some of the good and bad. IT WAS THE FIRST PRESEASON GAME! There I’m glad I got that out of the way first.  Some [...]
