Torrey Smith’s Three Touchdowns Lead Ravens To Victory Against The Rams 37-7

If you watched the Ravens Rams game today, you heard one name a lot. Catching 5 passes for 152 yards, the rookie Torrey Smith showcased his blazing speed against a weak Rams secondary. The Rams could simply not do anything productive on both offense and defense. It looked very similar to the game against the Pittsburgh Steelers in week 1, where the Ravens completely dominated all phases of the game.

Between Ray Rice and Ricky Williams, The Ravens had over 120 yards rushing while Joe Flacco threw for 390 yards. All in all, the Ravens had over 550 yards of total offense breaking a franchise record. That’s quite impressive considering that Lee Evans was out as well as starting left guard Ben Grubbs. You couldn’t ask for a better game on offense by the Ravens.

More after the jump…

The Ravens defense was spectacular as well. Almost getting a shutout, the Ravens stout D held the Rams to under 300 yards of total offense. They also added five sacks to the stat sheet and two turnovers in the form of a Lardarius Webb interception and a fumble recovered by Haloti Ngata for a touchdown. Ngata, who just signed a $61 million dollar contract this week, showed why he’s one of the Ravens franchise players after rumbling down the field for a touchdown to seal the Ravens victory.

The Ravens showed what they can do when everything’s clicking. They’re virtually unstoppable. But the Ravens need to stay consistent if they want to win this division. It will be interesting to see how they perform next week when they return home for what should be a classic fight against Rex Ryan’s New York Jets.
