Looking Ahead to Week Two: Ravens vs. Titans
I know I didn’t do an in-depth analysis before the Steelers game like I said I was going to but that’s because I forgot. So, officially, I’m starting the in-depth analysis (aka prediction) before every week now. Week One: Baltimore Ravens Opponent: Pittsburgh Steelers Final Score: 35-7 Ravens (WIN) Major Stats: Ray Rice rushed for 107 yards against the Steelers Defense; Joe Flacco threw for 224 yards and 3 TDs. Game Notes: The Ravens forced 7 turnovers and didn’t have a single turnover themselves. They sacked Roethlisberger 4 times and the offensive line only allowed one sack on Flacco. Week [...]

5 Questions About The Ravens
Yesterday I asked Brandon, editor of TitanSized.com, five questions about the Titans. Today I answered his questions about Ravens. You can check them out by clicking here. Make sure to visit TitanSized.com for all news regarding the Tennessee Titans. Here’s the first of five questions: 1. Alright, first off I want to talk about Jimmy Smith. I love that guy! (Jon Gruden impersonation). I really think that Smith should have been considered a top-10 talent. If you watch any of his college tape, it’s easy to see that he excelled in man coverage. Also, the bit about him being better [...]
Know Your Enemy: Tennessee Titans
This week I talked to Brandon, editor of FanSided’s Tennessee Titans blog, Titan Sized. I asked him a few questions about the upcoming matchup between the Titans and Ravens. Here’s what he had to say: 1. How do you think Chris Johnson will perform? Do you think the holdout will affect him in any way? The Titans offensive line remains highly touted, but I won’t get upset if you call me a non-believer. Pro Football Focus recently ranked them in roughly the bottom third of the league (based off their 2010 performance). Most observers (including Sports Illustrated) still think the [...]
Steelers Being Sore Losers
There’s been stories that apparently the Steelers are now complaining that Marshal Yanda made an illegal chop block on Casey Hampton during the game on Sunday. I just have a few things to say about this. One: SHUT UP. You got your ass kicked and are extremely embarrassed by it, as you should be. When you all immediately lost, you said there were no excuses, the Ravens just outplayed you. Now, you’re making excuses. Stop being sore losers. The Ravens were the (much, much) better team on Sunday and it’s time for you to face the music. Two: Would it [...]
Terrell Suggs Named AFC Defensive Player of the Week
After a hall of fame performance against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs has earned the AFC Defensive Player of the Week award. Suggs sacked quarterback Ben Roethlisberger three times and forced two fumbles. He also had five tackles. Those two turnovers aided in the Ravens overall domination of the Steelers. With the three sacks on Sunday, Suggs passed Peter Boulware to become the Ravens’ all time sack leader with 71.5 career sacks. Jimmy Smith Will Be Out With A High Ankle Sprain
As a rookie on the opening kickoff of his first NFL game, Jimmy Smith was nothing but excited. Unfortunately for him, the game ended without ever starting. While rushing down the field in an attempt to cover the kick, Jimmy Smith sprained his ankle. Trainers helped him off the field and he did not return. Hopefully he’s a quick healer, but that was a tough one. The first kickoff, he runs down there, is fighting like crazy and gets caught up in a pile. – Head Coach John Harbaugh Smith will miss a few weeks due to the injury. He [...]
They got a couple quick turnovers and short field positions and took advantage of at least one of them. Of course, you can’t shoot yourself in the foot. It’s not hard to figure out. You turn the ball over the way we did today, and you don’t get turnovers, you’re going to get beat up pretty good. And that’s what happened – Pittsburgh Steelers Head Coach Mike Tomlin The Ravens defense looked unstoppable as they set a franchise record with seven turnovers agaisnt the Steelers. Ben Roethlisberger was a turnover machine for the Steelers, throwing three interceptions and losing two [...]
Flacco Takes The Next Step And Emerges As A Team Leader
I don’t know, there’s always going to be critics. Turn around, 10 weeks down the road, and something might happen, and okay, it’s back again. Who knows? For the time being, maybe, but I doubt it will last too long. – Joe Flacco One thing is for certain. Joe Flacco, just like every other quarterback in this league, will have critics. But after yesterdays game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Flacco quieted some. Flacco was 17 for 29 on the day, throwing for 224 yards and three touchdowns. But his stats weren’t what was important. His overall control of the offense is [...]
Ravens Rackers: Week One
Note: This is a new feature where I’ll be outlining how the Ravens players do every week in fantasy. Ravens Rackers aka the Ravens that rack up the most points in fantasy. Get it? The week the Ravens and Steelers play, many people who have Ray Rice, Joe Flacco, Rashard Mendenhall, and Ben Roethlisberger sit them because they know this will be a defensive low-scoring battle. Those who risked it (or just forgot to adjust their rosters, like me) got extremely lucky! If they were on the Ravens side of it, that is. Ray Rice, RB We know how he [...]
