I know I didn’t do an in-depth analysis before the Steelers game like I said I was going to but that’s because I forgot. So, officially, I’m starting the in-depth analysis (aka prediction) before every week now. Week One: Baltimore Ravens Opponent: Pittsburgh Steelers Final Score: 35-7 Ravens (WIN) Major Stats: Ray Rice rushed for 107 yards against the Steelers Defense; Joe Flacco threw for 224 yards and 3 TDs. There’s been stories that apparently the Steelers are now complaining that Marshal Yanda made an illegal chop block on Casey Hampton during the game on Sunday. I just have a few things to say about this. One: SHUT UP. You got your ass kicked and are extremely embarrassed by it, as you should be. After a hall of fame performance against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs has earned the AFC Defensive Player of the Week award. Suggs sacked quarterback Ben Roethlisberger three times and forced two fumbles. He also had five tackles. Those two turnovers aided in the Ravens overall domination of the Steelers. With the three sacks on Sunday, Suggs passed Peter Boulware to become the Ravens’ all time sack leader with 71.5 career sacks. As a rookie on the opening kickoff of his first NFL game, Jimmy Smith was nothing but excited. Unfortunately for him, the game ended without ever starting. While rushing down the field in an attempt to cover the kick, Jimmy Smith sprained his ankle. Trainers helped him off the field and he did not return.  Hopefully he’s a quick healer, but that was a tough one. You turn the ball over the way we did today, and you don’t get turnovers, you’re going to get beat up pretty good.
