Terrell Suggs Expects To Play In 2012 Despite Torn Achilles

Despite a torn Achilles, Terrell Suggs expects to play in 2012. Suggs has seen two doctors, one of whom said it was a partial tear while the other said it was fully torn. Suggs plans to see a doctor next week for a better analysis of the extent of his injury.

It’s amazing people are starting to write me off already, the entire season. It will take three or four months to heal. Well, it’s still three months before training camp, and then another month of training camp. At the minimum, I’ll be back in October, and at the maximum, most definitely back in November. – Ravens LB Terrell Suggs

Regardless of whether it’s full or partial, a tear is a tear and Achilles injuries take a very long time to heal. I’d be shocked to see him return in 2012. Even if he is able to return to the field in 2012, his effectiveness will be questioned. After being off of his leg for 3-4 months, he’ll lose a lot of his strength and need tons of rehabilitation.
