Former Houston Texan wide receiver Jacoby Jones has agreed to a two-year, $7 million contract with the Baltimore Ravens. Jacoby Jones will be used mainly as a returner, a position of great need for the Ravens. Jones visited the Ravens on Sunday. In 2012, Jones caught 31 passes for 512 yards with the Houston Texans.
Your most recent memory of Jacoby Jones may not be a pleasant one. Jones muffed a punt in the AFC Divisional playoff game against the Ravens last year, which was recovered by Jimmy Smith. Despite this mistake, Jones is actually an excellent return-man and speedster that should help the Ravens’ vertical passing game. However, I would like to know where that $7 million came from and what happened to it during the start of free-agency.
