Ravens safety Ed Reed startled Ravens’ fans on Thursday when he told SiriusXM NFL Radio that he was “not 100 percent committed right now to playing this year.” Since then, he’s backed up on his previous statement, saying that he plans to play next season.

It’s not about retirement, it’s about my focus in the offseason, health, family and football.

This shouldn’t surprise anyone as Ed Reed has been schizophrenic during the offseason for the quite some time now. However, it is a relief to know that he is planning to play next season as he remains to be a pivotal part of the Baltimore Ravens defense.
