The Ravens have signed tight end Billy Bajema now that Dennis Pitta is injured with a broken hand. In order to sign him to the roster, the Ravens waived undrafted rookie quarterback John Brantley.

The former St. Louis Ram started in 12 games last year but was primarily used as a run blocker. Bajema will most likely not see many passes thrown his way as he will be best utilized in the running game. Bajema also spent some time with the San Francisco 49ers.

In addition to Dennis Pitta and Billy Bajema, the Ravens also have Davon Drew, Ed Dickson and undrafted rookies Bruce Figgins and Matt Balasavage. Drew and Bajema will likely compete for a roster spot throughout the preseason.
