Art Modell Passes Away At 87

Legendary NFL Owner Art Modell passed away on Thursday at the age of 87. Modell was the owner of the Cleveland Browns franchise from 1961-1995, before moving the franchise to Baltimore where he remained  the owner until 2004, when he sold the franchise to current majority owner, Steve Bisciottti. While Art Modell is viewed as a hero to Baltimore, he’s persona non grata in Cleveland after leaving the city without a team for three seasons before coming back as an expansion team. The Baltimore Ravens will wear a decal on the side of their helmets this season reading ABM, honoring Arthur B. Modell. Additionally, a moment of silence will be held before all of the games this weekend.
