Ravens crush Giants playoffs hopes

The Baltimore Ravens beat the New York Giants on Sunday afternoon and single-handedly won the AFC North division and dashed the playoff aspirations on the Giants in one fell swoop.  The Ravens, 10-5, will use the next 13 fays to get healthy and rest most (if not all) of their banged up players against the Cincinnati Bengals in their week #17 match up.

The Ravens sputtering offense turned in a stellar performance as the team churned out 500+ yards of offensene.  Joe Flacco threw for 309 yards and had three touchdowns (2 passing and 1 rushing) on the day.  The offensive line kept the pressure off Flacco the entire game and they opened gapping holes for running backs Ray Lewis and Bernard Pierce.  Both running backs finished for over 100 yards rushing.  It is only the second time in Ravens history that they have had two running backs run for 100 yards in the same game.

Baltimore beat the reigning NFL champions very easily, and that should help boost the Ravens confidence immensely.  There is no doubt in my mind that they can beat ANY team in the league if they can continue to play like they did on Sunday.
