Ravens Hire Juan Castillo

I absolutely love this move. Many fans will not be happy as they look at Castillo and his utter failure as the Eagles defensive coordinator, but that isn’t what the Ravens hired him for. They hired him to return to his natural offensive line coach position. Castillo was a excellent OL coach and many teams were trying to bring him into the fold this offseason so this should be considered a big win for the Ravens. Castillo has a reputation for bringing the best out of less than conventional players, players like Michael Oher for example.

Castillo is an excellent hire, but he likely means the end for Tony moeller in Baltimore. Moeller has been one of the biggest sources for the Ravens offensive inconsistency because the offensive line is not well coached on the outside. Moeller has also had some issues with substance abuse and has twice been suspended by the NFL for it. Castillo is a major upgrade.
