Today the Ravens announced the release of LB and special teams player Brendon Ayanbadejo. The move isnt much of a surprise because multiple other special teams specialist on the roster and Ayanbadejo having a relatively high cap number made him highly expendable. Ayanbadejo is also 37 years old with only a year or so left in him.

Ayanbadejo is most well known for being a very public face in the pro-gay marriage movement. Ayanbadejo might play in the NFL next year, but he has a lot of things going for him if he does not.

Thanks for playing hard Brendon, We will always be grateful for the part you played in getting the Ravens a second superbowl championship. Good luck with all you future endeavors.

The move will save the Ravens 807,000 against the cap.

Ayanbadejo announced his goodbye on twitter, thanking Ravens fans for their support.

"I would like to thank the city of Baltimore and the Ravens organization for an amazing ride, We Will forever be united as champions"
