2013 NFL Draft: Round 7, Pick 247, Ravens Take Marc Anthony

With the 247th pick in the NFL Draft, A compensatory pick and the Ravens final pick, The Baltimore Ravens have selected Marc Anthony, CB, Cal.

I have been pounding the table for months for the Ravens to draft a particular Cal player…this isnt him, but hey this is a really good pick and I like it a lot. I had anthony labeled as a 5th round pick so the value is there and the Ravens certainly need depth in their secondary so this is a win win.

Anthony is a solid sized corner at just under 6 feet, but he plays the ball pretty well in the air and has a good feel for the game. He could have gone as early as the third round, but some concerns about his overall speed dropped him down. He isnt a super fast and sexy CB like Desmond Trufant, but he is a football player. He will be a good special teamer from day one and has starter potential down the road.
