EJ Manuel may be a rookie starting quarterback for the Buffalo Bills, but the Ravens must take note of this rookie quarterback.
Manuel has impressed all throughout preseason and in the Bills first three regular season games.
One of the impressive aspects to Manuel’s game is his decision-making. He doesn’t throw the long pass that every scout loves to see from a quarterback, but he makes the short and most effective pass.
In that sense, he should draw some comparisons to Alex Smith, who doesn’t throw the long ball either.
While Smith had struggled for the most part of his career, in recent years, he has had recent success with just maintaining the short and most effective pass.
Like Smith, the best way to stopping Manuel is to pressure him. Also, he has a quick trigger, so keeping the ball in his hands longer by pressuring his receivers is another way of maintaining him throughout the game.
