Baltimore Ravens’ salary-cap update

With linebacker Daryl Smith’s four-year, $16.1 million contract officially on the books, the Baltimore Ravens now have $8.981 million left in salary-cap space, according to ESPN Stats & Information.

There are only 12 teams who have less cap room than the Ravens. The Pittsburgh Steelers and San Diego Chargers have the fewest with less than $2.5 million.

Wake-up caw: Eric Ebron to visit Ravens

North Carolina tight end Eric Ebron is scheduled to visit the Baltimore Ravens prior to the NFL draft, according to The Baltimore Sun.

Getting the draft’s top tight end at No. 17 would be a great value for the Ravens. But will Ebron fall that far in the first round?

Ravens Get Back Seventh-Round Pick

The Ravens get their seventh-round draft pick back.

Baltimore traded tackle Bryant McKinnie to the Miami Dolphins on Oct. 21 last season. At the time, it was reported that the Ravens would get a late-round conditional pick. The conditions were based on how much McKinnie played.

McKinnie started 10 games in Miami, which means the Dolphins will be sending their seventh-round selection to Baltimore.

Ravens Make Two Coaching Moves

The Ravens officially made two coaching moves Wednesday afternoon.

Chris Hewitt will become the assistant secondary coach and the team has hired a new cross-training specialist, Billy DeLorbe.

Hewitt spent the past two years as the Ravens’ assistant special teams coach, helping Associate Head Coach/Special Teams Coordinator Jerry Rosburg. Hewitt will now work along with new Assistant Head Coach/Secondary Coach Steve Spagnuolo.
