As reported earlier today, the Ravens have signed a total of five players – cornerbacks Aaron Ross and Dominique Franks, linebackers Austin Spitler and Nick DiMarco, and wide receiver Mike Willie.  The team had two open roster spots coming out of camp, so they needed to cut three more guys to hit the 90 player roster limit.

So today, three players got their pink slips – defensive backs Avery Patterson and Dexter Moody, and linebacker Xavius Boyd.  All three are rookie undrafted free agents.

Ross and Franks figure to battle for depth at the third cornerback spot.  Willie has intriguing size but hasn’t seen the field much in his two year career.

More tweaking is expected on the roster in the coming weeks as the Ravens try and settle some key position depth decisions.
