C.J. Mosley Continues To Impress

First round pick C.J. Mosley has received plenty of accolades for his work in camp, with the latest coming from veteran linebacker Daryl Smith via Garrett Downing at the Ravens official site.  Mosley lined up next to Smith as a starter on the final day of mandatory minicamp, and Smith likes what he has seen out of the rookie so far.

“[Mosley] has been here working his butt off, and he’s definitely got some ability.”

Mosley is technically competing with Arthur Brown for the starting inside linebacker job.  Brown has received a lot of praise himself this offseason, seemingly ready to make a huge leap from his star crossed rookie season last year.

Of the competition, Smith added “It’s going to be good.  We’ve got a lot of young guys that can play some ball here. Competition brings the best out of all of us, and it’s good for us.”

We fully expect Mosley to keep the job due to a talent edge, but Brown should rotate in often to keep things fresh.  He also provides quality depth in the short term.  The pair makes for a formidable duo to go alongside Smith, Suggs, and Dumervil, and provide a nice injection of youth to the aging core.
