Former Ravens Still Taking Up Cap Space

There’s nothing worse than having guys who don’t play for you taking up precious cap space.  And the Ravens have a few of them, according to ESPN.  It’s particularly tough to read considering the team has the sixth lowest available cap space of all 32 teams.

A little over $6 million in cap space is taken up by the likes of Bernard Pollard ($1.5 million), Jameel McClain ($1.2 million), Bryant McKinnie ($1 million), Michael Huff ($1 million), Vonta Leach ($580,000), and Marcus Spears ($300,000).

That figure is 12 most in the NFL, but no where near the worst offender, the Dallas Cowboys.  America’s Team has an astounding $23.5 million in dead money counting towards this year’s cap.  $8+ million of that figure alone comes from DeMarcus Ware, who is now a Bronco.

Makes you feel a little better, doesn’t it?
