Quarterbacks: Joe Flacco, Tyrod Taylor
We have tried really hard to make a case for Keith Wenning to make the cut as a third quarterback. And he showed his appreciation by coming out and having a horrid performance Saturday night against the Cowboys. Wenning went 2 for 4 for 23 yards with a 67.7 passer rating, and lost a fumble while absorbing two sacks. While he has practiced well, he looked downright terrible against replacement level competition. If he keeps it up, the Ravens might be able to sneak him on the practice squad after all.
Tyrod Taylor has been solid, but not spectacular. His completion percentage is improving, but he is still too quick to give up and run the ball. We don’t expect him to be a pocket passer, but there have been plenty of plays where he had a good option yet chose to tuck it and scoot. Unfortunately, there aren’t any better options out there right now.
