Jimmy Smith Will Miss a Few Weeks With Foot Sprain

When Ravens top corner Jimmy Smith went down on the very first drive of Sunday’s game against the Bengals, everyone pretty much feared the worst. Especially when he was quickly ruled doubtful to return. John Harbaugh confirmed that those fears were warranted on Monday, as he announced that Smith would miss a few weeks with his foot sprain.

It’s horrible news for a team that has struggled in coverage outside of Jimmy Smith’s excellent play. Smith has been one of the best corners in the NFL this season and his loss is one that will have severe ramifications over the next few games. Especially when you consider that the Ravens face a red hot Ben Roethlisberger, Drew Brees, and Phillip Rivers in three of their next four games.
