Welcome to the Daily Caw, where we round up all the latest Ravens news and notes from around the web.  Today we play “who’s staying and who’s leaving” in regards to players and coaches.  It was a busy day of speculation and announcements regarding the few question marks facing this team in the offseason.

Gary Kubiak Staying

Kubiak made it known before the Ravens loss to the Patriots Saturday that he didn’t want to leave.  And shortly after speculation began Sunday morning that the Bears and Jets were going to pursue him anyway, Kubiak shot those notions down.  Keeping Kubiak is a major coup for a team on the rise.

Justin Forsett Wants to Stay

The Ravens would be wise to keep their lead back, but it all boils down to price, of course.  And Forsett would be wise to stick around after he broke out this season at the ripe age of 29.

Pernell McPhee: Big Payday Coming?

McPhee is probably as good as gone, considering how teams love to pay big bucks to pass rushers these days.  The Ravens aren’t the type of team to get in a bidding war, especially for a player who broke out in his contract year.

Steve Smith Will Be Back

When you’re going on 36, every year you face the question of retirement.  But Steve Smith proved this year he can still be effective on the field and is well worth the $3 million he is owed in 2015.

Chris Canty Considering Retirement

Canty, 32, appeared in 11 games this season and recorded 33 tackles and a half sack.  He is nearing the end of the line, and is pretty expendable after the emergence of rookie Timmy Jernigan this season.
