Finally, after eight weeks of NFL action, the Baltimore Ravens have finally secured their second win of the season.  Following the worst start in franchise history, it took a nail biting full four quarters for the Ravens to send the San Diego Chargers back to the west coast with a loss.

The win was bittersweet, of course, as it saw one of the NFL’s greatest players of all-time, Steve Smith, go down with a season ending injury in what he has previously called his final season.  This was the latest in a long line of Ravens games that went down to the absolute wire.

The difference, of course, is that this time the Ravens found themselves on the winning end of a close finish.  Justin Tucker nailed a 39 yard field goal as time expired to stop a three game losing streak and hand the Chargers their fourth straight loss.

As has become a theme for the 2015 Ravens, this game wasn’t the prettiest or the ugliest, and it was filled with both good and bad moments.  As we do each week, we’re going to take a look at both in our week 8 “cheers and jeers.”  We’ll get started with the Ravens’ player of the game.
