Big Time Production:

Correa really developed in his three seasons with the Boise State Broncos. He racked up 19 quarterback sacks. His best year was his 12 sack 2014 campaign. Correa had six sacks last season. Last season the Broncos had Correa be more than just a pass rusher but he still had decent numbers. 36 total tackles, nine tackles for a loss and six sacks is strong production in a 12 game schedule.

Film Study:

After watching some tape on Correa, there were surely some things I liked. He wins with leverage. On one play against Colorado State he made a good move inside and pushed an offensive lineman into the quarterback. He did not get there first but he finished the play. That’s the kind of tenacity  Correa has.

He is a capable edge rusher who can get around the tackle inside or out. He has a strong bull rush and he can convert that power into speed and vice versa. Correa is a natural outside linebacker but he seems to relish the chances with his hand in the dirt. Rushing the passer is clearly his forte.

More from Ebony Bird

Correa can drop into coverage. He has a good feel for the game and he is a good athlete. It looks like the Ravens found a future starter at the outside linebacker spot. He is a perfect fit for what the Ravens like to do. Correa is strong against the run but he can improve this part of his game.

He is a bit undersized and his ability to track down the football over tall linemen may be in question. He could use a little more height and length, but his motor makes up for it.

Rookie Projection

Correa will be a strong rotational player. The Ravens will lean on Elvis Dumervil and Terrell Suggs as much as they can. Correa is just one of the Ravens young pass rushers and he needs some time to develop. Correa has the potential to be a long time starter eventually. He has the physical skills and the intangibles to be a great player.
