Chris Carter is a veteran defensive player who is trying to make the Ravens team. He made an incredible impression on Thursday night.

Chris Carter was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers. Carter was the Steelers fifth round pick in 2011. It seems unbelievable that the Baltimore Ravens are his third stop in the AFC North; but the journeyman linebacker has also played for the Cincinnati Bengals. In between his three years with the Steelers and his two years with the Bengals, he played for the Indianapolis Colts. Carter only has 39 tackles on his resume at the moment.

This could be the last chance the linebacker has. It seems like he has a magnet to the AFC North. Maybe the Ravens are the team that he can finally work everything out with. Carter is one of those players that has to prove himself to make the roster. He went a long way towards that goal with a strong performance on Thursday night.

Carter’s strongest asset appears to be his bull rush. This is a player who found his way to the quarterback on a couple of occasions. He only came away with a half of a sack in the stats line but he made a real impact. When Carter got a full head of steam he was almost impossible to start. In a game where young players struggle with the fundamentals of the game, he looked like he was on top of everything.

Before the Ravens first preseason game, Carter wasn’t on many people’s radar. He still has a lot of work to do. Nothing is guaranteed in the NFL (of course if there is anyone who knows that it’s Carter). He has bounced around the league for a while. If he continues to play well in the preseason he may have a spot on the 53 man roster. He is certainly a name to remember this preseason.
