Saturday’s preseason game against the Lions will give us the best look at the current state of the team in preparation for the season opener against the Buffalo Bills. The all-important third preseason game is usually referred to as the “dress rehearsal.”

The Ravens have looked pretty good so far, displaying far better depth than in recent years. The young pass rushers are showing their worth and the backup quarterbacks have showed accuracy and poise.

However, the team isn’t without their issues. The starting secondary is still a work in progress and Joe Flacco still hasn’t played a down. Without seeing the starting pass rush, it’s hard to gauge if the Ravens have truly improved on defense.

Here’s some improvements we’d like so see from the team against the Lions.
