Today we continue our look at the Ravens Legends Bracket with an interesting contest. Who should advance, Elvis Dumervil or Kelechi Osemele:

The Baltimore Ravens have parted with these two players in the past two years. After the 2015 season, the Oakland Raiders shelled out big money to Kelechi Osemele. This offseason, the Ravens cut Dumervil as a cap saving measure. Both players played an important role in Ravens history. Dumervil came into the tournament as an 8 seed, Osemele a 9 seed.

Why Kelechi Osemele is a Ravens Legend:

When Ben Grubbs signed with the Saints, he left pretty big shoes to fill at the position of left guard. Those shoes were successfully filled by Osemele. Osemele filled a big need in his rookie season, a rookie season that came with a Super Bowl ring. For a few seasons, the purple and black had two elite guards for their offensive line. Osemele was a great player for the Ravens. There was a reason the Raiders gave him the most money a guard has ever seen. Baltimore couldn’t afford to keep Marshall Yanda and the younger version of Marshall Yanda.

When you look at the impact that Osemele made, it’s safe to say that the Ravens got the most out of their second round draft pick.

Why Elvis Dumervil is a Ravens Legend:

In the 2014 season, Dumervil had 17 sacks, which is a Ravens franchise record. That was the year the Ravens beat the Steelers on the road in the playoffs. He had two sacks in the playoff battle and he sacked Ben Roethlisberger 6.5 times as a Raven. Dumervil had 26 of his 99 career sacks with Baltimore.

The most incredible part of Dumervil’s story with the Ravens is how he landed in Baltimore. A fax machine error allowed the Ravens to steal him from the Denver Broncos. Dumervil had some great plays here. He had to battle injuries and Terrell Suggs going down in 2015, didn’t help; however Dumervil will be remembered as a great Ravens player. He had one of the best seasons a Raven has ever had in 2014.
