So if you havent seen the latest concept drawings produced by Kansas City based Architectural company 360 Architecture. These designs are totally awesome.

There are two different designs, the “Pantheon”, pictured above, and the Solarum, pictured below. The Pantheon is clearly the more awesome approach, even though the Solarum is probably more practical.

The nicest touch on the Solarum, which is very similar in style to Lucas Oil Stadium in indianapolis, is the flexible material that will make up both the roof and part of the siding. when the roof is open it almost gives off the traditional stadium look of being wider at the top as the seating spreads out. That said, here are some more pictures of the Pantheon design because it is clearly the most awesome stadium concept ever designed.

\

Thats right, those fans on the top over the field close to make the stadium a dome with huge windows making a ring in the sky above the field. totally awesome.

if you didnt notice, there is a giant video board that lines the entire rim of the building that makes the board at Jerryworld look like a 10″ black and white piece of junk. I have been to Atlanta many times and plan on going many more before I die(if you havent been there, it is a pretty cool place to go) I really hope this stadium becomes a reality because I cant wait to go there to see a game. the Stadium, whatever design it ends up being, will be completed before the 2017 season.

Generally speaking, I don’t make a ton of posts about the mid level pickups of teams not based in Baltimore(or at least in the AFC North), but today i am making an exception. I make an exception because This is Brian Banks.

Today Brian Banks was signed to a contract by the Atlanta Falcons. I you havent heard Brian Banks story, you need to go read it. Banks is a very very impressive young man. Banks was convicted of Kidnapping and Raping a young girl that attended high school with him. After serving his time in prison, Banks was released under 24 hour ankle monitor surveillance. The girl he was convicted of raping eventually contacted him through facebook, he immediately contacted the California innocence project and later acquired a confession that she had fabricated the rape story. Banks was exonerated of all charges. There is much more to the story than that, and it is truely amazing, but that is the gist of it.

Banks was a highly recruited LB who had a verbal commit to attend USC before his conviction. Since being exonerated, he has been trying to make his NFL dream finally come true, and now, thanks the Atlanta Falcons(and a ton of hard work by Banks of course), he has finally made it. Banks has a solid shot of making the roster. I couldn’t be happier for him. He has been dealt a pretty crappy hand through no fault of his own, and thanks to his level head and incredible resolve, he is now an NFL player.
