Here Are My Notes From the John Harbaugh Interview.

John seems legitimately psyched about the draft class. mentioned Brandon Williams multiple times without being prompeted. I get the feeling the Ravens brass really liked him.

Harbs described John Simon as a Ravens type of guy. He flies around and hits people in the face. He makes plays and plays hard.

On the switch to Jim Caldwell and changes on offense. We Need To get better..we need to be more explosive and more physical. We just took a center(Ryan Jensen) and we like the competition there a lot. We just have to get better any way we can.

Ryan Jensen was described as a center and Harbaugh said he would compete at center for a starting job with Gino Gradkowski. I said earlier that Jensen is enormous for a center, especially in a no huddle, this is an odd pick.

the Ravens still have 2 more picks to make, so the interview was cut short. The Ravens are also probably already making calls to potential undrafted free agents and trying to get their foot in the door early. The Ravens always land some gems on the UDFA market so I would assume they do some good work there this afternoon.

The Baltimore Ravens are Super Bowl Champions!

Reality is a slow emotion, so I’m still coming to grips with what actually happened tonight, but Ravens fans around the planet should stand proud!

Even tough the electricity gods attempted to change the momentum, the Ravens decided that tonight was their night. They decided that tonight was Ray’s night; it was Joe’s night, and John Harbaugh’s night. And they were victorious. Joe Flacco was named the MVP, and his huge supporting cast of Boldin, Rice, Pitta, Jones, Smith, and Leach were impeccable.

In the next few days we’ll need to debate how many of these superstars the Ravens can afford next year, but for tonight, let’s simply bask in the glow that is called “World Champions!”

Congratulations Ravens!

Hingle-USA TODAY Sports

Today the Ravens set down in New Orleans and they immediately got to work. Here are some things i noticed from their various press conferences.

-Almost no Ravens players had cameras or recorders out as they got off the plane. They seemed to be focused and prepared to win.

John Harbaugh Presser

-Harbs was asked a ton about his family life and the early years of the Harbaugh brothers. He was always complementary to his brother and shared some pretty fun stories about playing sports with Jim when he was growing up. He said Jim was always bigger and faster than everybody else and played with kids older than him all through school, that meant that even though John is a year older than Jim, they played on the same teams.

-He said Andy Reid gave him a book all about notes for the Super Bowl experience, all about how to deal with distractions and the weird timing of things. any resource a coach could have is a benefit, especially when it comes from a head coach who has already done this.

-Harbs talked a lot about Respect, respect for his brother, respect for the 49ers, respect for the game and the fans. The 49ers repeatedly mentioned respect as well. I expect to see little to no trash talk and cockiness from either team because they both seem to be very respectful of each other, likely due to their similarities in play style.

- When asked about Obamas comments he said he didn’t agree with them and referenced back to Jims comments yesterday before speaking to the greatness of the game of football. He said he beleives it is a huge part of the education system in America because the game teaches you who you are as a man.

-Harbs also said that he liked that Super Bowl week is drawn out and different and that he tried to strike a balance between normalcy and allowing his players to realize that this is different. He said the Superbowl prep should be a little different because it reminds you of the place your in.
