5. Adalius Thomas, LB (Southern Miss) 6th Round

Adalius Thomas ended up being a star with the Ravens. It makes you wonder how in the world, he lasted until the 186th pick in the draft. Thomas played 10 seasons in the NFL, seven of them with the Ravens. Thomas’s resume includes 517 tackles, 53 sacks, 15 forced fumbles and seven interceptions. Now that’s not hall of fame numbers, but it is incredible production for a sixth round pick.

Thomas was one of Rex Ryan’s favorite toys to rush the passer with. He could do it all. He could cover, he could blitz, and he could run after the football. Thomas even lined up as a cornerback against Chad Ochocinco on one play. You name it, Thomas could get it done. In 2006 the Ravens posted a 13 win season, the most in franchise history. Thomas was a big part of that success; he had 11 sacks that season.

185 draft picks were recorded before Thomas was selected. He proved to be worth much more than the draft pick the Ravens spent on him. Thomas had his fair share of success wearing purple and black.
