3. Kenneth Dixon

Dixon is one of those players who just has a lot of buzz around him. This buzz is created from the eye popping highlight reel that was his Louisiana Tech career. Dixon has speed, agility, great vision and incredible moves. He has the kind of big play potential that could shake up the Ravens running back position.

What we know about the Ravens running back situation is twofold. First the Ravens have a logjam at this position. Secondly Justin Forsett and Buck Allen are at the top of the depth chart. Dixon could change that. He has a skill set very similar to Ray Rice, though he is faster. If Marc Trestman gets Dixon involved, he’s going to want to keep getting Dixon involved.

The knock on Dixon, is his propensity for fumbling. There are few coaches that can tolerate fumbles, and John Harbaugh has practically filled his proverbial doghouse with fumblers. If there was anything that dropped his draft stock and if there was anything that could be a deterrent moving forward it is his lack of protecting the football.

We’ll see what happens. Dixon is the kind of running back that Trestman loves. He can be used in the passing game as a real weapon. If Dixon shows that he is a touchdown scoring machine, Forsett and Allen may be watching him more than they’d like to.
